Anniversary Champagne with Pink Snowflakes

The holidays are in full swing, and even with a difficult economy, there is much to celebrate and much to be thankful for. We are celebrating our one year anniversary as Pearls in a Pod! It's been a great year and we've learned so much as we continue to construct and refine our business. Thank you to all of our friends, aquaintances, business partners and customers for your support and encouragement. You are all Gems!

A warm welcome to those of who who join us from the Professional BusinessWomen of California conference! The PBWC Expo marked our first participation in an event of that size, and we had so much fun meeting and sharing our love of jewelry with you all! From that event alone, we have set aside four strands of pearls for our "Making a Difference, Strand-by-Strand" program! Congratulations to Deanna White from SMUD, who won our pearl bracelet.

As we go about the festivities of the holiday season, let us remember our friends and family with the most important gifts of all - love and joy!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
Connie and Katie

Making a Difference, Strand-by-Strand
Peace for Families

In this season of giving, we would like to announce an exciting project for Pearls in a Pod! We have partnered with Peace For Families, a Placer County organization that provides services for victims of sexual assault or family violence. Part of their service is to provide education and assistance for women who are re-entering the workforce.

For every classic white strand of pearls purchased, Pearls in a Pod will donate a pearl necklace to Peace For Families. We know the difference that confidence has in a woman interviewing for and beginning a new career. We hope that our gift of pearls can help these local women feel like the beautiful, capable and strong women they are!

Trendspotting - from our blog

I have a very old habit that I have no intention of breaking. I'm a trend spotter. It started when I first graduated from college. I had a new job as a bank officer, no wardrobe other than jeans and tee-shirts, and a huge student loan balance. Out of necessity, I people watched, checked out magazines in the library and clearance shopped. I learned accessorizing could expand my meager wardrobe. I'm still "spotting" and always trying to pick out what the next trend is...

Happily, the latest trend is one of the most flattering--long necklaces, especially pearls. They say every long loop takes off ten pounds. Well, don't take it too seriously, it doesn't work for numerous loops--they just glop together and count as one! And if some actresses were trying to accomplish a skinner look by their loops they'd be in the sub zero size range! ...Check out our blog for more fun trends and holiday tips!
